Your timezone is saved for future display options. In this pilot the journal groups days and sessions in UTC, the same for everyone, so stats stay comparable.
The starting balance is used to show your balance/equity and % returns (balance = starting balance + logged net P/L). You can change it later in the journal’s Settings.
Goals and risk are for your own review and (later) your AI coach. The journal never places trades or tells you what to trade.
